George Grote Prize for 2024

We are very pleased to announce that this year's Grote Prize for PhD candidates has been awarded to Ben Cassell.

Ben is undertaking a PhD on 'Ritual Experience and Athenian Collective Memories: Cognitive and Embodied Approaches' at King's College London. The George Grote Prize is offered every year by the Institute of Classical Studies from the fund bequeathed by the late Professor V. L. Ehrenberg. The prize of £3,000 is awarded for an original and hitherto unpublished study on a topic in ancient history and is open to current research students at the University of London. In 2024 there is also a prize open to Early Career Researchers at the University of London.
