Sharing Your Research with Non-Specialist Audiences

Sharing Your Research with Non-Specialist Audiences
21 July 2020, 11.00am - 12.30pm
Research Training

This online workshop will focus on the key principles of communicating specialist academic research to wider publics. Participants will be supported to devise an ‘elevator pitch’ based on their research, and the session will also provide guidance on using widely-accessible formats such as blogs and podcasts to reach new audiences.

The workshop will be led by Dr. Emma Bridges (Public Engagement Fellow, Institute of Classical Studies), with guest speakers Dr. Jessica Hughes (The Open University) and Dr. Henry Stead (University of St. Andrews).

The session will be of particular interest to academic researchers at all levels (including research students) who would like to explore ways of broadening the reach of their work.

This is a free event but places are limited and booking is essential.
