Description

Venue: The Gallery Café, 21 Old Ford Road, Bethnal Green, London E2 9PL

Part of the 2018 Being Human Festival, and hosted by St. Margaret’s House, this is one of a series of special events exploring the connection between textile-making and storytelling in women’s lives from ancient Greece to modern London. This evening performance from By Jove Theatre Company, introduced by experts on ancient poetry and craft, will voice the stories of the ‘subversive stitchers’ of the ancient world.

Doors open 7.30pm; performance starts 8pm. The performance will last for approximately one hour, after which you are invited to join the performers and experts for informal conversation and a drink at the bar, or to try your hand at weaving on our replica ancient loom.

This is a licensed venue and the event is suitable for audiences aged 18+. Please be advised that the performance may allude to themes (e.g. sexual violence) which some may find upsetting.

There is no charge for this event.
