The Institute offers a number of non-stipendiary Visiting Fellowships which are ordinarily awarded for periods of between two and 12 months. They are open to Classical scholars who are based outside  the UK. Visiting Fellows have access to the library and other facilities in the Institute, and many give talks or take part in other academic events during their stay, in London or elsewhere in the UK. Those interested should contact the Director, sending a short curriculum vitae, a one-page summary of the project for which the fellowship is sought, the dates of the projected visit and the names and e-mail addresses of two academic referees. Fellowships applications are decided by an academic committee: it is recommended that applicants write at least three months before they wish to arrive.
