Institute welcomes Leverhulme Early Career Fellows

The Institute of Classical Studies invites expressions of interest from potential applicants to the new round of Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships as part of a larger initiative by the School of Advanced Study, University of London. This follows the appointment of Professor Greg Woolf to the Directorship of the Institute as of 1 January 2015.

Institute to welcome PhD students from 2015-16

We are delighted to announce that from academic year 2015-16 the Institute will be accepting PhD students. Students applying to the Institute will also be able to benefit from the opportunities provided by the London Arts & Humanities Partnership. Ana Healey Librarian of the Classics Combined Library

We are very sorry to report the death on 21st August of Ana Healey, who was Librarian of the Classics Combined Library in the days when the Library and the Institute were housed in Gordon Square. She had joined the Library in 1959 and was appointed as Librarian in 1972, after the sudden death of Joyce Southan. Ana retired in 1989 and those who used the Library in the three decades before then will well remember her Infinite kindness and quiet competence.

Prof Greg Woolf Appointed New Director
